Gone were the board shorts and skimpy bikinis to be replaced by elegant long dresses and formal suits as the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center played host to the Worlds best pro surfers for the annual ASP World Surfing Awards.
On a night of partying and thank you speeches it was left to 2010 World Champion Kelly Slater to pay homage to friend and rival Andy Irons. The emotional scene and much else can be seen in the following highlights vid.
