1. What was the first pair of flip flops you ever owned?
Havaianas brown ones, without the brazilian flag! I bought them 9 years ago but actually lost them last year in a foam party in Croatia (the ones in the picture). I can say they last for ever… unless you are a beach party guy!
2. Are you a fair weather or all seasons flip flop wearer?
In UK Summer only but in Spain (I’m from Barcelona) Spring and Summer.
3. The tide is coming in and about to claim your flip flops or your lunch… which do you save?
Does the lunch include a pint of beer? Otherwise my flip flops.
4. Favorite beach?
Any from Salou (my village, where I was born).
5. Favorite beach/island if money was no object?
Doesn’t matter as far as it’s close to my friends and family and has a stall.
6. Best thing you’ve ever seen whilst stood in your flip flops?
Londoners will hate me but I will never forget watching Iniesta scoring in the Chelsea FC Barcelona game (I’m an FCB supporter) from the bar on a beach in Cuba, on a 14-inch TV surrounded by people that could not afford to pay even a Coke. After the game I wanted to invite everyone but didn’t have enough money as I was only wearing swimming trunks and flip flops.
7. So why the love of flip flops? What’s it date back to?
Since I can remember, I love them because my feet don’t sweat but also because they are related to nice weather and holidays.
8. Sum up your personal philosophy on life?
I kind of consider life as a big party but sometimes I feel like I was born 20 years later than I’d liked. An analog guy living in a digital world!
9. Any final word or thought you want to share with our readers?
I have a dream. One day I will be able to wear flip flops the whole year and only care about my people and a small boat. Btw, I can’t consider myself a writer but sometimes I post things worth reading in my blog: Frucomerci.com, check it out!
