Zoltan Torkos In Legit Kickflip Interview

Comments Surf News

Reading through the interview Zoltan Torkos did recently with the Inertia I couldn’t help but feel inspired.

Zoltan Torkos

Here’s a guy who goes from cleaning floors at a local butchers shop, to pulling off the first ever kickflip in surfing to building skate parks for disadvantaged kids and gaining the legendary Tony Hawkes as a fan en route. All this whilst having to deal with the death of his close surf buddy Carl Reimer, shot dead the night he told Torkos he would be able to pull off the kickflip.

Whilst Volcom denied him the $10,000 winning prize for pulling off the first ever kickflip on a skateboard to be caught on camera (no ‘real air’ the official line) Torkos took the move to the water to make surfing history.

Watch the video here in case you still haven’t seen it.
